REVIEW OF DOUG KAZE UNPLUGGED
Doug Kazé is an Afro-Folk and Soul music artist. He writes and teaches African poetry at the prestigious University of Jos. He’s been doing the most when it comes to creating visibility and acceptance for the kind of music he does, which is often referred to as the most conscious kind of music. On July 24th2022, he hosted another unplugged session somewhere in the city of Jos featuring the #SoulFolknChill team alongside other excellent artists.
The event had had in attendance all performing artists and some members of the audience seated comfortably before the slated time for the commencement of the event. The event had begun by 4pm with a brief introduction of all event participants, and proceeded to an energetic opening poetry performance by Pages.
The man unplugged was gorgeously dressed as he performed three different songs across his singles and albums. Subsequently; Fortune Dyve, Philip Dobson and Edge Golbador were also on stage to perform the beautiful songs they had rendered to the already emotional audience present. Doug Kaze again performed three interconnected songs that left the audience sighing heavily at intervals. Asibi was there to also render some exquisite poetry, which was followed by thrilling performances by Eric Limani and Agbutun respectively.
There was an interlude that allowed for all participants to engage in a very important discussion; which had a very engaging participation by the audience, with relevant and practicable feedback. Coffee and very delicious cookies were also served to facilitate and sustain the energy during the conversation. The event had come to an end with two tremendous renditions by Doug Kaze.
The audience at the event had commended the set-up, lighting, sound, and intimacy the seating arrangement invoked at the event. Nonetheless, for an event that lovely, the event participants had expected that publicity commenced earlier than it did to attract more participation and the event venue made spacious enough to accommodate those who were present at the event.
Most event participants had also commended all performing artists, and further reported their uttermost satisfaction exclusively for all of Doug Kaze’s performances. They had also reported that he has succeeded in creating a brand for himself that cannot be contended with even on an international level as far as Afro Folk and Soul music is concerned. Everyone left with smiles on their faces having been delivered value for their invested time and resources.
