Sarah Nkansah Boateng is a midwife, reproductive health advocate, a radio host and social entrepreneur. As a midwife, she witnessed too many women, especially market traders, arriving at the hospital with severe pregnancy complications simply because they couldn’t access timely antenatal care. Adolescent girls lacked access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education which makes them vulnerable to rape, teenage pregnancy or even death. she knew something had to be done.

That’s why she founded TTYM Global (Talk to your midwife); a social enterprise in Ghana leveraging technology and on-ground solutions to make maternal and reproductive healthcare more accessible. Through their mobile app, they help pregnant women and adolescent girls track their health, book consultations, and access essential reproductive health products. Their point-of-care services bring antenatal care directly to women in underserved communities, particularly the marketplaces providing laboratory test, ultrasound scan and education, while their emergency maternity kits ensure that expectant mothers have the essential supplies they need for a safe delivery. They currently operate at the “Agartha” market in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

To scale impact, she partners with regional health directorates, and international stakeholders to ensure that women, regardless of their socio-economic status, receive the care they need. Beyond her work with TTYM Global, she uses her voice to drive awareness and advocacy. She host the popular radio show “Talk to Your Midwife,” where she educates the public on reproductive health issues.

As a columnist for the Business and Financial Times, she advocates for Sexual and Reproductive health and Rights. Recognized as one of Ghana’s 100 Most Inspiring Young Changemakers, she is passionate about empowering women and girls with the knowledge and resources to make informed health decisions. She believes that every woman and girl deserves safe, dignified healthcare, and if she can play even a small role in making that a reality, then her journey is worth it.
