Pirah Siyal is an environmental chemist and passionate climate advocate from Pakistan. She holds a Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, specializing in nanotechnology and environmental analysis. Currently, she is working as an Environmental Chemist at the Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (Sindh EPA), Government of Sindh, Pakistan. Her work focuses on environmental monitoring, pollution control, hospital waste management, water pollution analysis, and the treatment of factory wastewater effluents. She is committed to ensuring environmental sustainability, safeguarding public health, and protecting ecosystems through effective environmental policies and practices.

Sindh EPA, based in Karachi, operates under the Government of Sindh and is responsible for enforcing environmental regulations, controlling pollution, and promoting sustainable development across the province. The agency conducts environmental assessments, monitors industrial emissions, and leads awareness initiatives to foster environmental conservation in Sindh. On the international stage, Pirah was part of the negotiations at COP29 and also served as a panelist at COP29, discussing the Water Commission Report. Additionally, she has participated in various media talks, sharing insights on climate change, water issues, and environmental sustainability.

Beyond her professional role, she leadS a project titled “Root to Rise” (Asal se Urooj), which focuses on raising awareness about climate change, environmental issues, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among students and communities in interior Sindh, including Larkana, Gambat, Dadu, Naseerabad, and Hyderabad. The project aims to expand its reach across Sindh and eventually throughout Pakistan. She regularly delivers online sessions on climate change, environmental protection, and climate advocacy. As a Microsoft Office Specialist, Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Expert, and MIE Trainer, she combines her technical skills with passion for environmental governance to drive meaningful change in her community and beyond.
