Kathia Andine
Kathia Andine is a Social Worker, Student Researcher, and Committed Volunteer based in Cameroon. She holds a BSc in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Buea, Cameroon. Currently, she serves as the Program Assistant at the Pan-African Network for Gender Justice (PANGEJ) and is a Research Communication Fellow at the Leaders of Africa Institute in the USA for the 2024/2025 academic year.

Additionally, Kathia is a Millennium Campus Fellow in partnership with the United Nations Academic Impact (Class of 2023) and is under the Mentorship Program organized by Dr. Tumasang Swirri Foundation & of Hand in Hand Cameroon, who are women led NGOs working towards achieving women and girls rights. Kathia’s commitment to humanitarian work is evident, through her extensive volunteer experience with various non-governmental organizations in crisis-affected areas of Cameroon, where she actively contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Her passion for humanity, research, women’s empowerment, and community development drives her efforts to impact the lives of over 200 youths, particularly young girls. Through initiatives such as volunteering, leadership programs, and vocational education, she helps individuals gain the world’s most needed skills, personal development, and career orientation. Presently, Kathia volunteers with Safe Hands Association in Limbe, South-West Cameroon, where she engages in caregiving activities for vulnerable groups, including pregnant women and adolescent girls. Her work involves sensitization campaigns on health issues, educational outreach, and Gender-based Violence initiatives in schools, workplace and communities.

During her undergraduate studies, she pioneered a Career Orientation Program at Reachers Foundation, assisting unemployed youths and job seekers with CV writing, essay writings for scholarship opportunities and effective social media navigation. Her goal is to illuminate the path to knowledge for the most vulnerable women and girls, promoting empowerment through research, education, and volunteerism.
