Alice Chepngetich Saina
Alice Chepngetich Saina is a multifaceted individual who wears many hats. She is a dedicated paralegal working within the realm of the sex industry, advocating for the rights and protections of workers in this often stigmatized industry. As a team lead at Eldoret Sex Workers Alliance Organization, she has been instrumental in coordinating efforts to provide support, resources, and empowerment to individuals working in the sex work industry in Eldoret. Beyond her role in the sex industry, she is a passionate human rights activist who tirelessly fights for the rights of marginalized communities.

With a steadfast dedication to advocacy and social justice, she works to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their profession or background, are treated with dignity and respect. As an advocate for those whose voices are often silenced, she strives to create meaningful change within society and challenge oppressive systems. Through her work, she aims to break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and empower individuals to live authentically and unapologetically. Her journey as a sex worker paralegal, team lead, human rights activist, and advocate has been one of resilience, determination, and unwavering passion. She is committed to making a difference in the lives of others and creating a more just and equitable world for all.

Star ladies of hope CBO(ESWA) is a non-profit making organisation led by sex workers which was formed to accelerate advocacy efforts towards sexual health and human rights for Key Populations in Uasin Gishu county, it started in 2014 with the aim of addressing and responding to GBV due to rising cases of violence and killings of sex workers, arbitrary arrests from the county askaris, rape, stigma and discrimination from the community. the group was registered as SHUJAA support group and was later registered as star ladies of hope CBO in 2020.We are member of Kenya sex workers alliance and the African sex workers alliance. STAR LADIES OF HOPE ( SLOH) ESWA is a CBO that operates in Uasin Gishu and its environs in pursuits of its mission, vision and its objectives of providing, creating awareness and sensitization, education ,Economic empowerment and development programs to sex workers through peer and community engagements, as well as sexual reproduction health rights, HIV/AIDs and STI prevention programs.

Its programs and exercise are focused on solidarity and sisterhood. With discrimination, stigma and exclusion sex workers face, star ladies of hope have had a significant growth since its inception; curating two programs that help in driving the following objectives that ensure; a) Access to comprehensive health, legal and social services for sex workers. b) to strengthen services with an objective of improving county co-ordination in-regards to sex workers movement rights. c) Economic Options for Key Population d) To have strategic partnership and collaborations. e) To do advocacy and lobbying Is a membership-based organization with a current membership of 3,200 FSWs in Uasin Gishu County and still the number is increasing.

Currently SLoH operates in 6 sub counties areas in Eldoret Uasin Gishu County and neighboring boarders. SLoH was found with the aim of promoting advocacy and well –being of sex workers in Uasin Gishu County in particularly in pursuit of its Vision ,Mission and Objectives of providing ,creating Awareness , Sensitization, Education and development programs to sex workers through Peer and Community engagements.
