Taku Catherine Arrey-Ngang (PhD)
Dr. Taku Catherine epse Ogork Besong (PhD), is an Educationist and a Humanitarian Gender Expert. In addition to her teaching profession, she is a Human Rights and Peace Activist. Her dynamism and public speaking skills have taken her to several countries as a Conference presenter. She’s particularly interested in women’s activities, in fighting for women’s rights and privileges, and in encouraging women to make their voices heard in all circumstances.

She is a strong advocate for nature and the preservation of one’s culture. Catherine is also a Peace Advocate in her community. In 2018, she was one of the five women who headed a Women’s-only Peaceful Protest against the indiscriminate torture and execution of youths and women in the Anglophone Regions of Cameroon. She is the Founder and CEO of Hope For All (HOFAA) Cameroon, a CSO that aims at empowering women, building peace, and educating girls on GBV and human rights.

Dr. Taku aka Ogork Kate has studied in a cross-disciplinary manner. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language from the University of Yaounde. A Post Graduate Diploma in Women and Gender Studies, an M.A and a PhD in African Literature from the University of Buea. She equally holds a Diploma in Environmental Studies. Ogork Kate Taku, (Artist name) is a poet, a writer of Short Stories and a Folklorist, and has published several books. HOFAA is a duly registered Non-Governmental Organization with headquarters in Buea, South West Region of Cameroon. Its activities target the grassroot population, with a focus on women and the underprivileged.


Some activities carried out include training on Gender-Based Violence, Training on Women, Climate Change and Justice. etc. HOFAA runs on four (4) main thematic areas, viz: Peace-building, Education, GBV, and Climate Change.
