Barrister Akwie N. Awamofor is a trailblazing legal professional with expertise in dispute resolution, serving as both a Barrister and Solicitor alongside a Notary Public. She’s a member of the Rwanda Bar Association, the Cameroon Bar Association, and the East Africa Law Society. What’s more, she’s the first female lawyer in her community, paving the way for future generations. With a strong commitment to social justice, Akwie is a passionate advocate for women’s and children’s rights. She’s the founder and executive Director of JUSTZ NOW ADVOCACY, an organization dedicated to promoting, protecting and preserving the rights of Women and children especially victims of gender-based violence and child abuse, and those facing criminalisation for sexual related crimes, by providing them access to time and equitable justice.

In addition to her remarkable work, Akwie is also the country representative and executive Director of Female and More Cameroon. An organisation headquartered in Nigeria and dedicated to uplifting the self esteem of Women and girls to help them unleash their inner potentials. She is also the co-founder of Mentors Compass Initiative, a groundbreaking organization dedicated to providing career guidance and mentorship to individuals seeking to navigate their professional paths. Through this initiative, Akwie aims to empower individuals to make informed decisions about their careers, fostering a more informed and inspired workforce. Her dedication to justice, social change, and empowerment is truly inspiring, and her work continues to make a significant impact in creating a more equitable society.

At Justz Now Advocacy, activities include but not limited to; Providing emotional, psychological, and legal support to victims of GBV and child abuse, particularly vulnerable women and children facing criminalization for sexual-related crimes, Advocate for and provide access to equitable justice for victims of GBV and child abuse, ensuring that their rights are respected and protected. Empower women and children through education, training, and capacity-building programs, enabling them to assert their rights and make informed decisions. Advocate for policy and legislative reforms that protect the rights of women and children, and prevent GBV and child abuse. Engage with communities, raise awareness about GBV and child abuse, and promote a culture of respect, tolerance, and non-violence. Collaborate with government agencies, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to leverage resources, expertise, and support for our mission. Promote women’s rights and empowerment through education, training, and community engagement.
